The Brewery Band has a wealth of experience playing mainly English dance music – bouncy, driving and lively – and is equally happy playing both for ceilidhs/barn dances and country dance clubs.
The line-up is …
Dave Byett – melodeons – has played for
nearly every kind of traditional English dance, and was musical
director for NYFTE (National Youth Folklore Troupe of England)
for several years;
Nigel Hall – mandolin, cittern, guitar –
also plays with Pendragon, Rapscallion and Old Fox Band;
Helen Brock – fiddle – studied violin at
the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama;
Andy Brewer – bass – ex. Dr Bowser’s Brown
Bowel Oil Band and Brewer’s Troupe;
Glyn Owen – drums and all things
percussive.
The band is based in the Bristol and Somerset area and works with experienced local callers. The size of the band can be tailored to suit the event, venue and budget and the band will provide a full PA system to suit.
